Point to ponder...

Something struck me today while reading the news. Here it is.

When a child in the US is killed or abducted, the outrage is extreme. Not saying that it should not be, but it is extreme in the sense that it is a single child, yet people spew angry, hateful things towards the person convicted of doing such a thing.

However, The US Government can bomb a Country, kill COUNTLESS children, and Women, and innocent others, yet it is sadly, collateral damage. We as a population can agree with that and move on.

So the point here is, why is a child's life in the US so important, yet one in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan is not viewed in the same sense of anger, hatred when they are killed by one of our bombs, bullets, drones?

Point to Ponder today.

John Coryn(R), US Senator from Texas has proposed a new Internet Safety Bill.. here are some basics.

Internet Providers, Business offering Access, and PRIVATE CITIZENS with Internet access in their homes are going to be made to keep all internet records of access and tracking info. Basically the Bill states that you will keep the info, and when the Nazi's, err cops, show up on your door you must throw open your doors and allow them inside without so much a a nod..

I guess that everyone that we 'elected' has forgotten that there are certain liberties that cannot be usurped.. but then again, it hasn't stopped them yet... I voted against this asshole, for exactly the same reason that he is attempting to pass this bill.. because he's an asshole.

Texas Legislature Puts rSO Family MEMBERS on Registry.

Texas House Bill 1239  and Texas Senate Bill 689  Requires rSO's to report all Cell phone numbers, Home Phone numbers, email addresses, Internet Identifiers.

This means that any phone number in the home MUST be reported.  Your Kid's Cell phone, Your Wife's Cell Phone, WORK Cell Phone.  ANY ID used on the Internet.  Children's Webkin's account, ToonTown Account, Wife's Email Address, Husband's Email address ..  All must be reported.

Email addresses as well, and this part is going to cause mass unemployment for Texas rSO's, as they do not make an exception for WORK email.  DPS keeps the list secret, however once the list is released to a THIRD PARTY, they can do with it as they wish.  So expect those phone numbers and email addresses to be on Family Watchdog the moment it all goes public.

Businesses are not going to want that sort of exposure, and you know what is going to happen after that..  rSO without a job, mortgage goes unpaid, WHOLE FAMILIES on the streets!!!

Woman claims fictious baby was kidnapped

I wonder how many rSO's were rousted from their beds that night for a session of "We Know You DID IT!"?

Just like in the Florida search currently going on for the little 5 year-old. They first go to the homes of the rSO's within 5 miles. and ALL were cleared. hmm, trend? Yep, seeing as we have the second lowest re-offense rate, it is not surprising. My money is still on the father or 'girlfriend'.

But I digress, Here's this woman, who was trying an extortion racket against an ex-boyfriend. The jig is up, and she knows it, but has to try and gain some sympathy for her 'plight'... I can hear the FEM groups crying that she is abused or something already. Her statement:

"I guess I live in a fantasy world," woman admits to police.

ummmm, Ya think? To be honest, we should jail the ex-boyfriend as well. LOOK AT THE MUG on that one. sheesh....

A woman who had reported her baby girl missing Monday night in Terrell was arrested after detectives discovered the baby never existed, police said.

Child welfare workers took custody of a 5-year-old boy who was with the woman, police said.

Deborah Holste, 46, of Lake Charles, La., faces a charge of filing a false police report.

Police said she told officers her 5-month-old baby, "Jacqueline," had vanished from her car seat while driving from Louisiana to Texas.

Holste said the baby apparently disappeared when she stopped to use the bathroom at a roadside park, but she didn't notice the baby was missing until later, police said.

Police started to mobilize to find the baby, but investigators got suspicious when she couldn't remember key details, including the location of the rest area.

"But she was sticking to her guns," said Terrell police Det. Walt Newell.

Ofcourse she was, most that lay out false charges normally do!

Officers doubted the woman's story even more when they searched her car and found brand new diapers, but no bottles. A baby's car seat "was just laying there" and not strapped in, Newell said.

After more than an hour, police said she finally admitted she made the story up.

"I guess I live in a fantasy world," she said, according to police.

Police said she had driven to Terrell to meet a former boyfriend after telling him he was the baby's father. The boyfriend had sent her money and "was giddy" about meeting his baby for the first time, police said.

Now here's some guy, extorted, and being taken by this THING.. Will she pay the money back, doubt it. We'll see her on Oprah soon, extolling her poor life and some made-up abuse story so she can get the pity that she believes that she deserves...

"He was just an honest guy trying to make it right," Newell said.

Police put her in jail and called Child Protective Services to pick up the 5-year-old boy who was travelling with her.

Holste claimed she had adopted the boy but police could not verify that, Newell said.

Detectives informed the woman's former boyfriend that the baby didn't exist.

"I don't know if he was relieved or disappointed," Newell said.

Yeah! Thank you America.. We now have people that beleive it is ok to lie and create situations AND try to pin it on others... Someone took my baby!! Oh, well, If I had a baby, someone would have taken her.. I'm sure of it!!!

Transparency in Government

Seeing that we are in the new "Transparency in Government' ideology, thought I would post about it briefly.

If this idea is to ever take off, the current administration MUST mandate that all areas of government become more transparent.  Now I agree that *some* areas MUST remain cloaked, defense is just such an area.  However, other than national defense, I cannot think of any other arena that should be given the secrecy that is awarded so many functions today. 

One such arena of secrecy that comes to mind is adjournment broadcasting from the National Senate and House on CSpan.  Currently, once these two adjourn, it is no longer possible for CSpan to be allowed coverage.  Why is that?  Why aren't we as US Citizens allowed to view our elected officials in chambers discussing ideas that will in future shape the amendments put upon us by those same elected officials?  If items of interest are discussed on the Floors of the House and Senate, then we as the 'electors' should be given access to such discussions.

Just a thought from someone that would like to see MORE information being given from our elcted governemtn.  I am tired of the secrecy.
